Define “Journalism” in 1-3 sentences:
The spreading of current events that are news worthy through newspaper and the enternet. They must be printed.
List and describe the six criteria of newsworthiness.

1. Timelyness: Caring about things that are current. Watching tv and seeing things that will be happening in the future or present. Swine Flu happenings.
2. Proximity: Care about things that are near to us, how close you are location wise to things going on. Car accident on 35W.
3. Signifigance: It is usually going to be a major worldwide affecting event. Such as 9/11, Olympics, Swine flu, and elections.
4. Promanace: People that affect other people in a big way. Usually has to do with people that are celeberities or people who are big in entertainment. Such as Obama getting a new puppy, Britney Spears.
5. Unusalness: Things that don't happen very often and are unusal to us. Octtuplets, only happened like twice before. Man bites dog.
6. Human Interest: Feel good story about someone something and just puts a good twist things on. Homeless NFL draft pick things.
